Our Otter Story

In 1986 we lost our dearly beloved brother at the age of 36. He was a Top Gun fighter pilot and because of his playful nature and big brown eyes, his fellow pilots declared his call tag to be "Sea Otter".  After purchasing our log home in Northern Michigan, a riverside cabin in the woods and a place our Sea Otter would have loved, we named our home Otter Lodge to honor his memory.  Since then we have continued the tradition with our vacation rentals, Otter Inn, Otter Escape, and new in 2021, Otter Lodge Shed, a tiny house rental for two.
